My name is Justin Clack, and I’m now in my 29th year in real estate. I’m a real estate broker, sales associate, and GRI (Graduate of the Realtors Institute). One of the highlights of my career has been helping new agents start in the business. I’ve hired and mentored many, and some are now my coworkers. Being your own boss can be challenging, but it’s also one of the most rewarding career paths. Over the years, I’ve made many friends who started out as clients. While I haven’t kept an exact count of my closings, they number in the thousands. There’s no greater compliment than a past client reaching out to work with me again.
Our family moved here from California in 1977 when I was 10. In 1983, my parents opened a small real estate office on the west side of Main Avenue. They bought a building that used to be The Menagerie (now Tin Ceiling), a dime store that needed a lot of repairs. It became one of the most successful real estate firms in Northern Minnesota. About 15 years later, my business partner and I moved the business to the former Bishop Clothing Store building at Main Avenue and Highway 34 in Park Rapids. We also bought the former Straight River Real Estate and brought everyone together under one roof. After thousands of transactions, we sold the business in 2020 to a couple from Fargo, who have since passed it on to a new owner.
While I owned the business, I received the International Presidents Circle sales award for 11 consecutive years. But what mattered more to me was winning the Managers Award for Excellence multiple times, which recognizes the achievements of the entire team. To me, nothing compares to receiving an award that highlights the success of the whole office, not just the individual.
I’m a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a veteran of Operation Just Cause in Panama (1989). I support the local Veteran's Service Office, am a major donor to the Headwaters Animal Shelter in Park Rapids, and contribute to several other local organizations. I believe it’s important to give back to the community in any way you can.
I’m happily married and proud to have three grown children who have each made my life richer in their own way. They’ve given me the incredible gift of four grandchildren—two boys and two girls—who bring so much joy and energy into our lives. Watching them grow has been one of the greatest blessings, and being a grandparent is an experience I truly treasure.
