What’s Happening in Park Rapids: July
Summer’s rolling along in Park Rapids, and the next few weeks are packed with all kinds of fun events to keep your days and nights buzzing. Whether you’re into fairs, live music, family activities, or just soaking up the community vibe, there’s something here for you.
Starting off the stretch, if you’re up for a little road trip, don’t miss the Menahga Midsummer Celebration happening around July 12 and 13. The highlight? A lively Grand Parade on the evening of the 12th filled with floats, local spirit, and plenty of hometown cheer. It’s just a short drive and well worth it if you love that small-town festival feel.
Back in Park Rapids, the Hubbard County Fair is the place to be from July 15 to 20. This is the classic “5 Greatest Days of Summer,” where you can dive into carnival rides, check out livestock shows, indulge in fair food (hello, mini donuts!), and catch live entertainment. Whether you’re bringing the family or just want a day of nostalgia, the fairgrounds will be buzzing with excitement.
For music lovers, there’s plenty to enjoy too. On July 17, the 2nd Street Stage hosts a free outdoor concert with The Hooten Hallers, a rock band known for their energetic and soulful tunes. And if you want something a bit more intimate, don’t miss the noon-hour concert at Calvary Lutheran Church, the same day, perfect for a peaceful musical break during your afternoon.
Families and kids have something special too: on July 18, the Nemeth Art Center runs a creative art workshop where little artists can explore and have fun. Plus, that evening, the Jukebox Parade Hits Variety Show hits Jasper’s Theater, taking you on a musical trip through the ’50s, ’60s, and '70s, great for a night out with friends or family.
If you’re a treasure hunter or just love browsing unique finds, swing by the Red Barn Fair & Flea on July 18 and 19. It’s a perfect spot to discover cool vintage and handmade goods.
Around the same time, the Muskie Days Music Festival keeps the good times rolling with live music and festivities, so there’s no shortage of tunes to enjoy.
Later in the month, on July 20, there’s a tasty event that’s sure to satisfy your sweet tooth: a Georgia Peach & Michigan Blueberry Tour. It’s a relaxed, delicious way to spend part of your Sunday tasting some of the best summer fruits around.
Wrapping up the month, the Park Rapids Area Library hosts a Parking Lot Party on July 25—a community gathering with music and activities that’s perfect for all ages. And if you love theater, mark your calendar for the unique performance of A (Very Good) Christmas Carol on July 26, adding a little holiday spirit to your summer.
Finally, on July 31, the Jukebox Parade Hits Variety Show returns to Jasper’s Theater for another lively evening filled with classic tunes and good vibes.
Whether you’re exploring local fairs, enjoying live concerts, or just soaking up the summer spirit, Park Rapids has plenty to offer this July.
